Peer Review Process

  1. Manuscripts are submitted by authors through the online journal system (OJS).
  2. Submitted manuscripts must be in line with the journal's focus and scope and follow the applicable writing guidelines. Each manuscript must be an original work, have scientific merit, and be free from plagiarism. Authors are advised to conduct a similarity check beforehand using plagiarism detection software, while editors will verify the similarity level of manuscripts using Turnitin.
  3. Assignment of reviewers. Manuscripts that pass the initial selection stage will be submitted to the section editor to appoint at least two reviewers relevant to the field of study of the manuscript and begin the double-blind peer review process.
  4. Peer review. At this stage, reviewers examine the content of the manuscript and provide assessments and recommendations to the Editor-in-Chief.
  5. First decision. After receiving recommendations from two or more reviewers, the manuscript may be rejected, revised (minor or major), or accepted without revision. If the manuscript is accepted, the author is asked to conduct a final review before publication. The final decision on manuscript acceptance is made by the Editor-in-Chief based on the recommendations of the section editor and the approval of the editorial board.
  6. Manuscripts requiring revision will be returned to the author with a maximum deadline of one week to make corrections. Once the revised manuscript is received, the section editor will assess the adequacy of the changes made and the appropriateness of the author's response to the reviewer's comments. If the revisions are not adequate, the manuscript will be returned to the author for further corrections.
  7. Final decision. Based on the section editor's evaluation of the revised manuscript, the manuscript may be accepted or rejected. The manuscript will be accepted if it meets the journal's publication quality standards. Conversely, if the revisions do not meet the standards set by Alinea: Jurnal Bahasa, Sastra, dan Pengajaran, the manuscript will be rejected.
  8. Language editing. Once the manuscript has been accepted, authors are asked to make final edits to the language and presentation to improve readability without changing the substance of the article. Authors must resubmit the revised manuscript along with evidence of the changes for review by the editorial board before obtaining publication approval.
  9. Final editing. Manuscripts that have been approved are then processed by the journal editor. The final version of the article is then sent to the author for review and approval before publication.
  10. Articles that have gone through all editorial stages will be published in the latest edition of Alinea: Jurnal Bahasa, Sastra, dan Pengajaran.
